Purchasers will have a new rationale to go the Danbury Reasonable mall in the not-as well-distant potential.

Officials with Macerich, the California-primarily based business that owns the mall, stated Tuesday that lower price retailer Focus on will open a two-amount, 126,000-sq.-foot retail outlet in the house formerly occupied by Sears. Officers with Macerich are not indicating when the new retail store will open, but Shane Kitzman, a Focus on spokesman, mentioned the Danbury Honest mall locale “will open in the next handful of yrs.”

The new keep will be Target’s 2nd store in the Danbury place and carry the number of outlets the chain has in Connecticut to 22. The Minnesota-dependent retailer has a locale a several miles east of the shopping mall off Interstate 84 in Bethel that opened in 2004.

Macerich President Ed Coppola claimed the mall’s “terrific items mix and desirable demographics bordering Danbury Honest make this assets a wonderful match for all that Goal has to give.”

Shay Nagarsheth, the city’s economic growth director, stated the new Target is “going to be a good addition to the mall and to the west side of Danbury.”

Burt Flickinger, running director of New York City-dependent Strategic Useful resource Group, stated Target’s plan to open up a keep in Danbury “is a potent strategic move.”

“Because it is a larger shop, it will draw from a more substantial radius than the usual Target,” Flickinger mentioned. “I would assume the shopping mall retailer to draw shoppers from as far absent 15 miles.”
