[ad_1]

On Could 17, 1875 a horse named Aristides crossed the complete line prior to a crowd of 10,000 spectators to turn out to be the initially winner of the Kentucky Derby.

The race, often referred to as “the most interesting two minutes in sports,” got started by  Col. Meriwether Lewis Clark Jr, grandson of William Clark, of Lewis and Clark fame.

Clark was impressed by the Epson Derby in England and the Grand Prix de Paris Longchamp to produce a spectacle horse racing occasion in the U.S.
